As Aversan gets ready to attend one of the most anticipated aerospace events of the year, we want to share with our users exactly why this show is so great, and why all those who are able to attend should:
1. It’s Not Just Any Airshow
The Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) has been referred to by many as a “monster” of an event, “THE” show as well as many other names. Why? Because this is one of the world’s largest exhibitions! With over 107,000 trade visitors in 2012, FIA boasts over $72 billion US of confirmed orders and commitments in various industries including Aerospace, Defence, Security, and Space.
2. It’s Not Called the Farnborough ‘International’ Airshow for Nothing
Beyond North American companies, FIA also presents an opportunity to expand your company’s offerings in Europe, Asia, and South America. This is one of the most global tradeshows with over 1500 exhibiting companies from around the world in 2012, and even more this time around. Not often do you have so many global networking opportunities under one roof!
3. Get Involved in Industry Canada’s Many Organized Initiatives
This year Industry Canada, The Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development, and the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) did a fantastic job in organizing various initiatives for Canadian companies at Farnborough 2014. The various events that Canadian companies can be a part of include: the Canadian Pavilion; the Showcase Canada portion of the Pavilion; a Canada Chalet; a Ministerial program; a senior management program; business-to-business (B2B) meeting events; a speaker series; and many other targeted networking events.

4. Be The First to Know!
FIA 2014 will have many programs and features allowing participants to get the latest in industry news, issues, and involvements. Throughout the event, there are many informative briefings that will be worth attending such as AGP Briefing, Aviation Week Commercial Manufacturing Briefing, and many others. Furthermore, this year will be the second time ever that FIA will host the Innovation Zone, an area solely dedicated to R&D, showcasing the latest technological innovations of businesses, governments, and peers worldwide.
5. You Could Be A Part of History
World records have been broken at this event! At the 1958 airshow, 22 planes flew in formation and broke the record for greatest number of aircraft looped in formation. It remains unbroken to this day! Who knows what record could be broken this year?
6. It’s An Excuse to See a Beautiful Country
Have you looked at all the cool things you could be doing in Hampshire, England? We have! How about a tour of the beautiful Winchester Cathedral, birthplace to many royals? Or an up-close look at HMS Victory, the only surviving ship to have fought in the Napoleonic Wars? And for any thrill seekers, there’s an indoor skydiving facility! This county is full of incredible history and things to do.
P.S. The Best Reason To Attend…
You’ll get a chance to meet with our Director of Engineering, Scott Moses! Aversan will be in full attendance at the Farnborough International Airshow Trade 2014, and is thrilled to be participating in the Canadian program organized by Industry Canada, Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development and the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC).
