Aversan provided independent quality assurance, and pre-production release management activities on the implementation and maintenance of the Provincial Laboratory Information Solution (PLIS) and Interoperable Electronic Health Record (iEHR) for the province of British Columbia.
For this independent validation and verification (IV&V) initiative, Aversan developed an automated test framework (ATF) that allowed the province to perform the full suite of tests in a shorter time frame of a few hours so as to better support the release management process. A test suite was developed for testing multiple interfaces including the functionality of Health Information Access Layer (HIAL). The system involves high volume transaction web services transmitting sensitive PHI data securely; including transforming lab data from HL7v2.X to HL7v3 for storage and retrieval, interacting with provincial Client Registry and Provider Registry, subscription services, and disclosure (consent) directives.
As an IV&V partner from the onset of the project, Aversan helped minimize risk, reduce test regression time, and increase solution quality at all stages of the project.
