Aversan designed a Controls Integration Bench (CITB) to test key environmental and power systems used in Airbus aircrafts. The systems were developed by Honeywell for Airbus’ ultra-long-range flight aircraft model—the A350 XWB. Aversan’s CITB is a development testing facility that allows software engineers to test Honeywell controllers and software, as well as Airbus’ integrated model avionics hardware.
Aversan’s CITB facility provides the ability to test three systems independently at the same time while sharing hardware resources. The Batch Execution Software (BES) used for this project automatically scheduled and managed test execution, allowing for 24/7 facility utilization. The CITB facility acted as an integral part of the development of Honeywell Systems. It provided the first opportunity for direct interaction between Honeywell and Airbus units and software. Aversan was able to drastically reduce the overall test cycle time for the project by developing custom tools to automate and run tests 24/7.
