Recruitment Fraud Alert

Recognizing and Preventing Deceptive Hiring Practices

Recruitment fraud is an increasingly prevalent issue in today’s job market, where deceitful individuals or organizations exploit job seekers through fraudulent job postings, false recruitment processes, and misleading communication. Aversan Inc. believes that raising awareness is one of the most effective methods to combat this scam.

Applicants applying for positions at Aversan Inc. are not required to incur any costs throughout the job application process. The recruitment process overseen by Aversan Inc. may involve one or more in-person or virtual interviews.
Furthermore, Aversan Inc.’s recruitment team exclusively communicates with prospective candidates through email accounts ending in “@aversan.com,” Any email claiming to be from Aversan Inc. but not matching the aforementioned domain should be considered fraudulent.

Aversan Inc. requires their employees to get approval through a Purchase Order process for work-related equipment expenses, rather than sending a cheque.

These bad actors may go to great lengths to collect your personal information. They may claim to work for Aversan Inc. or even create fake websites that resemble Aversan Inc.’s website as a collection point for your data. Please be aware that our careers site can be found at https://www.aversan.com/current-opportunities/. Other job postings may be made available through Aversan Inc.’s official accounts on various job sites, such as LinkedIn (https://ca.linkedin.com/company/aversan-inc).

What is Recruitment Fraud?

Recruitment fraud refers to schemes where scammers pose as legitimate employers or recruiters to deceive job seekers. These fraudulent activities often involve fake job advertisements, illegitimate recruitment firms, and bogus offers of employment. The goal of the perpetrators is usually to extract money from the job seekers, gain access to their personal information, or exploit them in other ways.

Signs of Recruitment Fraud

Being vigilant and recognizing the signs of recruitment fraud can help job seekers avoid falling victim to these scams. Some red flags to watch out for include:

Upfront Fees: Legitimate employers and recruitment agencies do not ask for payment from job applicants.
Unverified Contact Information: Scammers often use generic email addresses or phone numbers that cannot be traced back to a reputable company. If the email address doesn’t end with “@aversan.com,” it most likely is not legitimate.
Poor Communication: Messages filled with spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, or overly generic language.
Too-Good-To-Be-True Offers: Extremely high salaries, unrealistic benefits, or immediate job offers without a proper interview process.
Request for Personal Information: Asking for sensitive data such as Social Security numbers, bank details, or copies of identification documents at early stages of the application.
The open position does not appear on the company’s website listing of job positions.
